Analyzing Health Disparities in the Community

You are part of a task force that is preparing a grant application aimed at improving the health of the people in your community. The grant does not specify a particular focus, so your task force must begin by determining which health disparities exist in your community and on which one to focus. Each task force member is preparing a report to present to the remaining members.

To prepare for this Assessment:

Review the definition of culture and the articles related to how culture impacts treatment in healthcare.
Review the Sustainable Development Goals Report: https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/sustainable-development-goals/
Review the Healthy People 2030 Goals: https://www.healthypeople.gov/sites/default/files/HP2020Framework.pdf
Focus your attention on the second Overarching Goal: “Achieve health equity, eliminate disparities, and improve the health of all groups.”
