Identify opportunities that may aid in preventing nail gun injuries occurring amongst apprentice carpenters.

The intended outcome of the study is to obtain perceptions and experiences of nail gun injury causation from those who work within the building industry with responsibility for the Occupational Health & Safety. The aim is to identify opportunities that may aid in preventing nail gun injuries occurring amongst apprentice carpenters. Five industry experts have taken part in an audio-recorded one-on-one interview to obtain their experiences and perceptions in relation to nail gun injury causation.

The outcome is a qualitative study paper using the collected interview transcription data (attached) to be examined using the thematic analysis qualitative approach outlined by Braun and Clarke (2006) (attached) to identify both common and differing themes raised by participants and that of the current research available in the literature review (attached). The aim is to highlight key or specific trends or markers that result in injury from nail gun use.
