Implementation Analysis

Module Goals

After completing this module, students will be able to do the following:

  • Identify the key stakeholders (internal and external) relevant to the planned change effort and their respective interests vis-à-vis the change.
  • Summarize the planned change with a list of the most significant helping and hindering factors relevant to the change initiative
  • Develop a set of recommendations to be used in the final deliverable.
  • Continue to evolve the project documentation efficiently recording information in your analysis and moving towards the final project submission

Overview

This portion of the analysis identifies important implementation dynamics often relating to key stakeholders (internal and external) who can profoundly affect the implementation of the change or other issues of organizational alignment required for success. Emphasis is placed upon understanding the conflicting interests of various stakeholder groups, including regulatory bodies, disaffected employees or other organizational divisions, supply chain partners, competitors, and other extant stakeholder interest groups.

Needless to say, the focus will vary greatly depending upon the project type. Nevertheless, the overall point of such an analysis is to provide guidance to those who would negotiate, lead, motivate, and otherwise collaborate with key stakeholders who, in turn, will have a huge impact on the success or failure of your recommendations.
