TASK 1 – MANAGEMENT COMMUNICATION (av. 2000 – 2500 words)

The purpose of this unit is to develop understanding and ability to communicate effectively, as required by a practising or potential middle manager.

Understand the importance of effective communication in management

Use a model of the communication cycle to explain why it is relevant for effective communication in management.

You are then required to provide relevant examples to explain the importance of selecting an appropriate tone and language and level of formality in management communications, and to devise suitable criteria to assess and make a judgement on the effectiveness of verbal and written communication methods within your area of the organisation.

Choose – Questionnaire as a concrete analysis of data (at least 5 questionnaires assessing communication given to various team members such as management and colleagues. Find a balance between verbal and written statements to establish a particular communication style (minimum 10 statements to be used) use graphs / pi charts
