What to put in the assignment

The Introduction

Introduce the topic/area of interest. Ensure that you outline the evidence in a critical way, and in a way that allows you to highlight any gaps in the research/literature-base. Use a ‘funnel approach’ to make your introduction go from being quite general to quite specific.

Research question

• Introduce how you formulated your question

• You must use PICO/PEO to clearly define your question.

• Aims and objectives of this review

Methodology

• Clarify your Inclusion/Exclusion criteria

Results of the search strategy

• Conclude this section by tying everything up.

Critical Appraisal – Quality

• Use an appraisal tool to appraise the papers you have selected. Apply a scoring system, and put this information in a table and place in your appendices.
