Topic: statistics in media

Students will write a short (2-3 pages) reflection paper on statistics in media. Students will find a news report (perhaps through YouTube) or article that conveys statistical information. Examples of this might be political polling, reporting on popular science (such as health benefits of some fad), or medical reporting. Students will highlight the use of statistics in the coverage, link to class materials (e.g., the use of probability in polling data), and reflect critically on the coverage (e.g., do they provide sufficient evidence of the claim?).

Papers should have an American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition Title Page, which does not count toward the page count. Any references, such as news article/source, shoucgold also be cited in APA.
