L5: Assignment – Assessing Learners
Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is for students to reflect on assessment evaluations so they can utilize various assessment strategies to identify a learner’s skill level.
Deliverables: Observation. Reflection Report
Length: Three pages (you may exceed the length requirements).
Requirements:
Observation
Observe a learning environment where learners are being assessed (around 20 – 30 minutes). Pay particular attention to the types of assessments used and if all learners are receiving the same assessments.

1. Describe the assessment you observed.
2. Align the assessment you observed with the types of assessments you have read about this week.
3. Do you agree with the educator’s assessment strategies?

b. Support your answer with concrete examples (see rubric).
4. Discuss another strategy you would suggest as an alternative or in addition to what the educator is currently implementing.
Support your answer with concrete examples le you are observing, you need to take notes on how learners are being assessed.
Note: Learners are assessed all the time and not necessarily in a ‘traditional’ educational setting.
