Task requirements

You are required to do a thematic analysis of the transcript of qualitative data that has been provided for you. Write a report that follows the structure that is set out below:

Title
Introduction
Epistemology and ethics
Findings – identify two [minimum] and three [maximum] themes to analyse
Discussion
Conclusion
References

Your report must:

Discuss epistemological issues in relation to this research
• Discuss relevant ethical issues
• Identify two/three themes emerging from the participants’ responses in the transcript
• Discuss these themes, drawing on an appropriate range of relevant social science academic, research and policy material to enable you to develop your analysis
• Interpret the research participants’ answers using the above
• Include quotations from the transcript where appropriate
• Draw conclusions based on the data analysis

For the purposes of the assessment, you should assume that the research project from which the transcript comes has been agreed by the University’s Ethics Committee
