Guidelines for Journal Entries
• Numerically list practicum objectives for each entry from those listed on page
1. Objectives can change based upon opportunities that may present in the practicum setting.
• For each entry, analyze a problem, situation, or issue you have observed at your practicum site. (Problem or focus is to evaluate the effectiveness of a newly developed centralized nursing orientation program. To see if the program makes the newly hired nurse more effective in their professional practice.

Objectives 3. Compare and contrast nurse leadership roles in for-profit vs. non-for-profit institutions as reviewed in peer-reviewed literature.
1. Evaluate dissemination techniques to provide per-diem and part-time staff that cannot attend a 2-week on-line orientation program through collaboration and evidence-based literature.
