1. Using Mail Merge, create a data source file for 5 families. (You create 5 names and addresses. It is recommended you do not use names and addresses of people you know. Make them up.)

2. The merge fields you will need to create are:
a. Title (Hint: This could be Mr. and Mrs., Ms., Miss, or Mr. You decide how you want it.)
b. First Name
c. Last Name
d. Address
e. City, State Zip
f. Child’s Name

3. Be sure to use correct spacing and margins should be 1 inch all the way around. Left justify the letter. If you do not remember spacing rules, refer to the examples under the Lessons tab. See #6 in regards to deductions taken for incorrect spacing.

4. Below you will find a form letter to be sent to these families. This letter has incorrect spelling and placement of commas and periods. Be sure to correct all errors. There are 10 of them.

5. Use an appropriate closing and you will be the person signing the letter. Be sure to give yourself a title.

6. Compose this form letter into a main document that will be merged with your data source file. Create an appropriate letterhead. Again, use correct grammar, spelling, and spacing. Left justify the letter. Be sure to add your merge fields. 10 points will automatically be deducted for incorrect grammar and spelling. An additional 10 points will be deducted for incorrect spacing.

7. Once you execute the merge, save the letters as Project #1.
